A Brief Course in Advanced Obedience Dog Training October 31, 2009
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedAdvanced obedience is to a canine what putting down the toilet seat is to a man – it takes patient training but it is possible. Dog obedience training is among the most satisfying experiences between a dog and his master. You are not only doing yourself a great benefit; you are also giving your animal a more complete and happy life. Obedient canines are well-adjusted, confident and mentally quicker. You can be confident in it’s conduct even if you leave him alone with strangers.
The most important thing to keep in mind in trying to teach your animal is to set your position as the head in your relationship. When he ‘gets’ that you are the top dog, so to speak, it is much simpler to [train|teach} him the commands you expect him to obey. Confusing the animal in this regard can be risky; he will be aggressive and strive to dominate you. Don’t overcompensate and be excessively mean to show you’re the master; be firm, keep your ground and correct this critical trait as soon as you see it rearing its ugly head.
Make your authority known by using a strong and sure voice. As you say “Sit!” gently guide him in the said position firmly. You may have to go through several tries with each command, especially in the beginning. Progression from basic to more advanced obedience training is pretty much simple once your dog recognizes the patterns you’ve set in your teaching classes.
Operant Conditioning is rewarding your animal with treats or praise for correctly accomplishing the command. It is themost effective way to train your dog; it’s what he understands. Applaud your dog each time he does what you say correctly. Sometimes, this is easy to overlook but take care not to. Dogs will get confused easily and distinguishing good behavior every time will make certain that he will remember what is right.
Conversely, chastise your dog whenever he commits a mistake. Do it while he is making it and not when it is past so the dog will understand the error of his ways. Scolding him will also emphasize the difference between what is right from what is [wrong|bad}. For example, if he starts finding the suspicious looking dirt on his path fascinating enough to ingest, reprimand him then and there. Then put appropriate food before him to eat. When he starts dining on his own set meal, be profuse in your praise.
To be able to see growth in dog obedience training, keep it short and frequent. Be repetitive in what you teach. Don’t restrict training your dog during “school time” or set time blocks. Otherwise, he won’t feel like studying during the most part of the day.
Movie dogs awe you with the complexity of the stunts asked of them. But they all started with sit. Begin with the basics and climb your way up. With patience and constancy your dog will advance to more challenging stunts like growl, leave it, fetch and attack. Employ the same principles in how you trained him earlier and you will find sweet success in the more advanced levels.
Now that you’ve got working knowledge of a professional trainer’s guide to advanced obedience training for dogs, it’s about time to roll up your sleeves, get the happy dog and start the training!
How to find good youth soccer drills October 31, 2009
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedAs most soccer coaches know, it is hard to keep soccer practices interesting and full of new drills. It is important to do this becuase kids need to be mentally stimulated by new things. Practicing the same old soccer drills will lead to an un-interesting practice with dis-interested kids. When you think your practices are becoming dull and you are looking for new ideas, there are several things you can do.
First of all, consult with other soccer coaches. Most soccer coaches love to share ideas about strategy and practice drills. You would be suprised at how willing other coaches are to share their ideas.
Invite another coach or former player to run practice. A completely fresh drill will sometimes be just the boost kids need. It also provides you with a fresh set of eyes that can help you see a new perspective on what the team needs to work on. It is like painting. When you paint a picture, you think it looks the best after you take a break from looking at it for a while. When you come back, your fresh eyes perceive it much different.
These days one of the best resources is the internet. Videos and coaching drills are all over the internet. You don’t have to be a soccer coach either. You can find ideas on hockey drills, football drills, basketball drills, and pretty much any sport. Make sure to get specific in your search too. Typing in Soccer Drills will yield a lot of results. Try Soccer Conditioning Drills, or Soccer Passing Drills to get more specific. The same goes for video searches, the more specific the better.

Protecting yourself against the dangers of plastic surgery October 30, 2009
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedMore and more people are now looking towards plastic surgery for the perfect body that they have always dreamt of. But is it really without any risks? Sincerely I am afraid to say that some people may be putting their life in danger when going for such surgery given the risks that are involved. But this does not mean that all surgery is bad. There are some precautions that need to be taken and also patients should understand the risks involved. In order to help you learn more on plastic surgery I have written this short article to help you learn more on this.
The first thing that you must consider is whether the doctor is qualified or not. Some doctor may have some basic knowledge of this type of surgery and willing to take some bigger surgery without knowing what they are doing. Going to these types of doctors can put yourself at risks and you can be in for some greater trouble.
Looking for doctors that are qualified should indeed be more serious when it amounts to going for plastic surgery in a foreign country. It is not exceptional to get people favouring to get their surgery in a country overseas where the costs are significantly smaller. The downside is that you do not have proper information on the physicians qualification and you may be placing yourself at risk. This is the reason why you should spend some time doing some enquiry before departing for such surgery vacations. This French text on plastic surgery procedures (chirurgie esthetique en tunisie) and beauty salon and spa holds some interesting information and it should be essential for you to take a look.
When choosing your doctor you should be careful that you do not get your perception clouded by advertising or other deceitful claims. Do not hesitate to ask for recommendations from your friends and other acquaintances in order to find the best doctor for the job. The internet is also a great tool to find recommendations especially when it comes to surgery vacations.
People nowadays seem to be crazy about plastic surgery without realizing the problems that may be attached to such treatments. Indeed unqualified doctors, poor equipments and other amateurish procedures can give rise to some serious health concerns. This is why it is important that you make some research before choosing your surgery vacations. This should help you prevent some unnecessary complications in the future.
This Time Grow Huge Muscle October 30, 2009
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedYou know how the old saying goes, sometimes too much of a good thing isn’t really so bad. Sure, $100 is great, but $1000 is better, like good www.patiocleaner.net. If you’re offering Super Bowl tickets, I’ll take two, thank you very much. And can you ever have too many channels on television? So long as there is a multi-gigabyte device and songs to be found.
But let’s leave the expression in place. Take your training regimen. So often, when bodybuilders arrive at a plateau, you then start adding exercises to their program and spending long hours time in the gym, thinking that if they hit it hard enough and long enough, they’ll go through and start seeing results again. Too bad, like scrubbing stains that need a concrete patio cleaner for many hardgainers, that way is the exact opposite of what they should do, when you’re at a high metabolic rate.
Here you go – the answer to it all – don’t lift more. Go of a shorter time, and in that shortened window, train smarter, harder and with maximum intensity. So for example, eliminate the excess from your program, get in and out of the gym, and give your body more time to recover, rest and, most important, grow. Worrying about those stains on the concrete won’t matter with a good patio furniture cleaning.
To that goal, an extreme hardgainer program is short and simple, cutting back to the bare minimum of exercises you need to ensure that you touch on all the basic muscle groups and no more. It also relies heavily on compound moves because these are the most efficient exercises in your patterns. They call on multiple muscle groups at once instead of just one set. The isolation moves, when they do appear, are worked in the end as one final “burnout” set to all-out failure.
Here’s where the plan gets radical. At least if you’ve been a firm proponent of high-volume training and find yourself working out four to six times a week normally. For this plan, you’ll only train three to five days a week. The key bodyparts are broken across 3 sessions – a leg day, chest and back day, shoulders and arms day. You’ll do each just once per week, inserting at least a rest day in between them. This is how to train to get maximum muscle gain.
Fashion Contact Lenses October 30, 2009
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedMany people wear contact lenses. Contact lenses are a way for people who regularly wear glasses to be free of the glasses and still see just as well, if not better, than with their glasses. Many years ago, contact lenses were hard and uncomfortable, often popping out unexpectedly and landing on the floor, much to the dismay of the wearer. But, times have changed. Fashion Contact Lenses have become comfortable to wear, and available even as bifocals or for people with astigmatism.
Contact lenses are even available in a variety of colors, for those who wish to see themselves with a different eye color than they were born with. These coloured contact lenses can be made for the wearer’s prescription just as regular contact lenses are.
Cheap Contact lenses are available from a person’s optometrist or ophthalmologist’s office, or to save money, prescriptions can be taken to a Target or Walmart store or ordered from one of many online suppliers. Be sure to check carefully before ordering online, to make sure the supply house you ordered from is legitimate. The Better Business Bureau has a list of real companies, so you can check their website www.bbb.org before placing any online or telephone orders.
The contact lens wearer should be aware of some important things about contact lens use. Contacts need to be cleaned with a cleaning solution, and should not be worn overnight. The eye needs oxygen, so lenses should not be kept in the eye over an entire 24 hour period. Eyes that are deprived of oxygen for too long can get infected, and the vessels in the eye can swell for lack of oxygen. This swelling can lead to permanent eye problems. So, be sure to clean the lenses regularly, and let the eye rest during sleep.
Besides oxygen, the eye needs moisture. Modern contact lenses are designed to act like sponges, retaining essential moisture in the eye. Still, the contact lens wearer may experience dryness from staring at a computer screen, working in air conditioned places, or strain from reading. There are many eye drop products that can help moisturize the eye while wearing contact lenses in these situations.
There are different types of contact lenses. Extended wear lenses can be used for a long time with regular cleaning and daytime only use. Disposable lenses are thinner and therefore more comfortable, but accumulate dirt particles quicker and tear more easily. They are designed to last for 2 weeks and then be replaced with a new, clean pair. They are cheaper than extended wear, which need to be replaced every 3-6 months. The most recently developed lenses have very high water content, allowing for longer more comfortable wear. Still, cleaning is essential to avoid infection.
If your eyes do become very irritated or infected while wearing contact lenses, give your eyes a few days to rest, and throw away your lenses to avoid re-infecting the eye. It may be necessary to see your ophthalmologist for some antibiotic drops. Contact lenses can be enjoyable and freeing to wear, when done responsibly for the eye health of the wearer.
