5 Ways to Exercise Without Effort October 31, 2008
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedWe would all enjoy having a better physique however very few of us have the time and energy that it would take to put in all of the exercise necessary to do so. Fortunately, there are a lot of different ways that you can get some effortless exercise that will help you to be able to get fit and lose some weight in the process. Here are five different ways that you can do so, most of which can be added into your life without you ever realizing it.
Parking Your Car – Instead of parking your car as close as possible to work or to the store, try parking in a little bit further away and walking there instead. The few minutes that you will spend walking into the store and out again are going to add up to a lot of exercise over time.
Clean Your House – Housecleaning is one of the greatest exercises that we can do for a number of different reasons. First of all, it is physical activity that we need to do and can not be put off for too long. Secondly, living in a clean house is going to make us comfortable and less stressed. This will go a long way in helping us with any fitness goals we are trying to achieve.
Enjoy Your Children – Your children are a powerhouse of energy and can be a great source of exercise for you. Take them to the park on a regular basis and be active with them. Not only will you enjoy some exercise but your family bond will grow as a result of the increased togetherness.
Take Dancing Lessons – Dancing is a fantastic form of exercise and is a lot of fun at the same time. Usually, there are dance lessons that are available in almost every town so check your local listings and see if you can get in on the fun. This is going to be strenuous activity but you will not recognize it as being exercise. It is also a great way for you to spend some family time and almost everybody will enjoy doing it.
Don’t Use the Phone – Instead of picking up the phone and calling somebody that is on the other side of the office, get up out of your cubicle and walk over there to talk to them. It may seem small but this little bit of activity will add up over the course of time.

professional bloggers October 31, 2008
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedmaking a living with a blog is slowly becoming a more acepted way of making a living.
Many professional bloggers started out in a particular niche such as property investing or some other money making subject but nowadays corporate blogs are starting to take over the blogoshere.
Handbags and purses are one such private blogging niche that is now becoming increasingly full of “pretend blogs” and splogs. Most blogs in the niche are either well-established or are solely to promote an ebay affiliate link or some other such similar affiliate program. They offer very little genuine information, but are instead baits to lure either handbag or purse sales or adsense clicks.
Many people are frustrated when visiting these sites which are well SE optimised but offer nothing else and end up clicking on an ad. This is an extremely short term way of producing a blog. It diltes the market, may make a few bucks for a short time, but will eventually be penalised and sooner or later, there will be so many of these SEO splogs other bloggers end up giving up the fight.
If a blog offers useful information, it is not a given that it will succeed now. Too much competition, and every one thinking they can make a quick buck.
Like any non-regulated market, the blogioshere is in danger of over whelming itself with too many blogs. In future, to make a living blogging, careful consideration needs to be given to the chosen niche. Gone are the days where you could set up an aggregated blog, add a few adsense ads and make money. Too many, too diluted at the moment. Pick your niche carefully.
Rockford Verdi Club: The Tricolore Italian Flag October 31, 2008
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedThe following history of the Italian flag is presented by the Verdi Club of Rockford, IL. The present flag of Italy was adopted in 1948. Italians call it Tricolore because it has three colors – green, white, and red. All the previous Italian flags were all designed with these three colors. There are quite a few attributions as to why these particular colors were chosen and what do they mean. The white and red come from the Cispadane Republic, while the green comes from the military uniforms. According to some people the green stands for the plains of Italy, the white for the snowy hills of the Alps, and the red for those killed in the independence wars. A more religious explanation of the colors is green – hope, white – faith, and red – charity. One thing is sure about the colors of the flag, and it is that they are very specific. The green is a fern green, the white is a bright white, and the red is a flame scarlet.
In the world there are many flags that are similar to the Italian one. The best example is the flag of Mexico. They differ in aspect ratios – Italian 2:3 and Mexican 4:7. The Mexican flag uses darker shades of both green and red and it has an emblem (Mexican coat of arms) over the white part. The Italian flag is also similar to those of Ireland, Hungary, and France.
Italians celebrate their flag on the 7th of January. Although this is an official holiday, it is not a paid one. The Tricolore is a beautiful flag and it has proudly represented Italy throughout the world.
The Verdi Club is one of the most popular Italian clubs in the Midwest! They offer a wide variety of activities for their members including a full bar, professional bocce courts, riverfront property, pool tables, and a concert hall that is available for rent. For over 89 years, the members of the Giuseppe Verdi Society have taken pride in having one of the elite social clubs in Rockford, IL. How to Share a Love Poem October 31, 2008
Posted by Pat in : my thoughts on stuff , comments closedFor those trying to impress their boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse, a carefully selected love poem can be the perfect gift, a chance to express a feeling that may not have been easily expressed otherwise. Not everyone has the gift of language that William Shakespeare or Emily Dickinson did in their lives, but everyone can study and share their words with that special someone.
Knowing What You Want to Say with a Love Poem
There are numerous steps to sharing a love poem with someone you care about. The first of those steps is to decide how you want to express your love. Poetry is a profound art form because it is so versatile and the great poets in history have used the form to show that. Write down exactly what you want to say in your love poem – you may be able to find a poem written three hundred years ago that expresses your same sentiments.
The love poem you select should have special meaning for you and your loved one. Try to find a love poem that expresses a special connection only you two have, a secret message that he or she will immediately recognize. Read numerous love poems before making your decision. Poetry has been used by men and women for centuries to express feelings of love. The love poems you read might inspire you further.
Selecting Your Love Poem
Once you are absolutely sure what you want to say with the love poem you select, you should decide whose poetry best represents your feelings. For that, you must know who the greatest love poets of all time are.
William Shakespeare
One of the most often quoted writers of love poems is William Shakespeare. In fact, everything Shakespeare wrote was written in verse, including his numerous plays. However, it is his sonnets you will want to inspect for those nuggets of poetic gold. Read Shakespeare’s love poems carefully as not all of the 154 sonnets are directed happily towards a loved one.
Rumi
As Rumi once said, love poems are but “a mere reflex of that huge interior reality we call love”. Yet, he is still considered one of the great poets of all time, his work considered in the Muslim world second only to the Qu’ran. His love poems are short and simple, evoking vivid imagery and speaking to the details of a lover. Millions have used his poems to impress a lover.
Elizabeth Barret Browning
Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote what is probably the biggest cliché in any love poem, “How do I love thee, let me count the ways.” However, Browning’s love poems in Sonnets from the Portuguese, written for her husband Robert Browning are considered some of the finest English language love poems of all time, a fine choice for anyone looking to impress a significant other.
Thousands more wrote millions of love poems that you can use to help capture a special someone’s heart. You must merely know where to look and what you want to say. Poetry can do the rest.

One important thing to remember is that, as with any type of business, you need to do your homework before you enter into an agreement with a debt consolidation company. There have been some of these companies who have taken the money from clients and used it for their own designs, stating that the monthly amount was a fee for their involvement. Others have not paid the bills on time and the client’s credit was ruined.
Make sure you are clear about how much they will charge for a fee. You will also need to make it clear that you expect the money to be disbursed to your creditors as soon as they receive it.
